Halloween Moonlight DIY Decor

The moon is a huge part of Halloween magic from witches to werewolves so I got creative & made one using a hula hoop!

I hung a black sheet over my window & taped paper stars all over it. Then hung fishing line from wall to wall to hang the witches hat in front.

For the moon,I wrapped white string lights around the hula hoop like so.

Then with Kitty's help covered it with a yellow plastic table cloth & tied the corners together. I made a hole to put the end of the light cord out & added some black string to hang above window. Then I used an extension cord from behind the black sheet to light it up.

Hallomeow 2014!

This years costume turned out to be my favorite one yet! I can't take all the credit since I got the idea off Pinterest but I made it my own by using pictures of cats rather then stick figure drawings or stuffed toy cats like the others I saw. How I made it was by taking a kitten calendar & glued the pictures to cereal boxes then cut the kittens out. After cutting out the bottom of a box I glued the bottom of the kittens to the top of the box & poked ribbon through each corner to hold it on my shoulders. It was super easy & everyone loved it! It was a purrr-fect Halloween!

I'm momma cat lol!

New bed for Kitty.

My nerdy friend :)

My boyfriend & friend as "Dead Presidents" movie.

Wilma!

Another fun Halloween with this clown.

Cat cookie's for treats!

Vintage Bird Place Cards

Found these place cards on Listia & had to have them! I love the tiny painted shells made to look like birds & flowers. Not really sure what I'll ever do with them but for now I'll use them to spark my creativity. I added the names of my grandma's & mom with a photo editor to make the cards look even more lovely.

DIY: Rain Boot Repair

Not long after moving to Portland I got my first pair of rain boots!

Six years later they have cracks :(

Make over with Duck Tape!

Patch up the cracks then cover with print tape.

Cut off tape at the edge with a razor & then new cheetah rain boots!

Thanks to my boyfriend for doing this project for me!

DIY: Plastic Storage Drawers Makeover

I think everyone hates how ugly these things look but yet everyone has at least one in their home. I used pink poster board paper to line the inside of mine & now it's not such an eye sore.

Nail Tip Tuesday: Rose Buds

Step 1: With a hot pink paint make a few dots.
Step 2:  For leaves add two small dots of green paint.
Step 3:  Use a light pink to paint a little swirl on top of the hot pink dot.

Moon Cactus!

I came across this pink moon cactus & had to have it for my apartment! I have yet been able to keep a plant alive in my life so I gave up trying but lately I've been really wanting to grow a green thumb. I gave the pot it came in a Day of the Dead make over with some paint & now I love it even more! And so I had to buy another one to paint as a monster!

Rainbow Fan!

Looking out my window I got inspired by a pretty rainbow.

My fan is boring so why not make it a rainbow!

Using a cookie cutter I traced hearts on colored paper & cut them out.

Then with some heavy tape on the back I stuck them on my fan. It helped to have my boyfriend to hand me the hearts so I didn't have to keep getting up & down 30 times.

And a pretty rainbow in my living room!
